About Kids » Vans & Drivers
Akdar Shrine in Tulsa is fortunate to have a large number of me who will spend their time for the benefit of children. These men spend many days as well as nights on the road transporting children to our hospitals each year. They make these trips so the kids can access the medical care available at Shriners Hospitals located in other states.

Drivers for the 2009 year:
It takes more than the drivers above to make this program work. Men also volunteer their time at Akdar Shrine Center.
Bob Kinser has for years cleaned and washed vans, taken vans for regular service and had them ready for the next trip. Bob did this work even though most of us never noticed the hours he worked.
The Hospital Chairman job is a very intense and trying position and the men that have done that job have donated untold hours to benefit children. A short list of a few men that have made that sacrifice of their time are as follows:
Bruce Fortney, Joe Woodson, Bill Bradley, Bill Cole, Mel Coffee, Court Randall, Ken Hunter and now John Thomas.
We have had many men volunteer time in the transportation office and to name a few:
Chuck James, Dwight Messard, Monty Carroll, John Bulman, Roy Rodgers, Red Fields, Lloyd Hunter
